Installation Guide
1. Product Overview
PureSolid Castellated Cladding is an innovative, re-finished composite wall cladding system.
Featuring a unique four-ribbed castellated profile, it delivers a modern architectural finish suitable for both residential and commercial projects.

4. Important Safety & General Notes
Read all sections carefully before installation
4.1 Safety Requirements
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including:

Safety gloves

Safety glasses

Long sleeves and pants

Respiratory protection when cutting
4.2 Tools & Fixings

Standard woodworking tools may be used
-
All cutting blades must be carbide-tipped
-
Use stainless steel or approved coated deck screws and nails only
5. Storage & Surface Preparation
-
Cladding boards must be stored flat at all times
-
The installation surface must be:

Clean
-
Flat
-
Smooth
-
Structurally sound
-
6. Expansion & Movement Allowance
Australia’s temperature range can vary from 15°C to over 40°C.

Composite cladding expansion rate: ~2mm per linear metre
-
Leave adequate expansion gaps at:
-
Panel joints
-
Trims
-
Corners
-
Pre-Drilling Requirement
-
All fixings must be pre-drilled with a 5mm hole
-
This allows natural expansion and contraction of the boards
7. Sub-Frame Requirements
⚠️ Composite cladding must NOT be fixed directly to walls.
Recommended Sub-Frame Specification

Structure: BCA-compliant framing
-
Timber size: 70mm × 35mm

Timber type: H3 treated pine
-
Joist spacing: 350mm – 600mm
-
Fixings: Stainless steel screws only

Screw size: 8g × 30mm
8. Professional Installation Required If:
You must engage a qualified installer or builder if:

The cladding is installed as a ceiling

The project is commercial

Wall height exceeds 2.2 metres
9. Installation Procedure
9.1 Batten Installation
-
Minimum clearance between the lowest batten and the floor: 40mm
-
Minimum clearance between top batten and ceiling: 10mm

Wall layout references:

Wall A: Between Trim and Inside Corner
-
Wall B: Between Inside Corner and Outside Corner Trim
-
Wall C: Between Outside Corner Trim and Trim
-

9.2 Trim & Cladding Installation Steps
Step A – First Board & Trim A
-
Cut the first cladding board to size
-
Insert into Aluminium Trim A
-
Fix the trim to the batten with screws
-
Maintain 20mm clearance from the floor

Step B – Install First Board
-
Insert the first board into Trim A
-
Fix the board to the battens with screws

Step C – Install Subsequent Boards
-
Install the second board over the first

-
Fix to battens

-
Continue upward in sequence
Step D – Inside Corner Finish
-
Measure the remaining gap at the inside corner
-
Cut the final board accordingly
-
Fix the board securely to the battens

Step E – Outside Corner & Trim B
-
Cut the first board and fix Trim B to the battens
-
Install boards sequentially as before
-
For final board:
-
Measure and cut
-
Insert Trim A
-
Fix securely
-

9.3 Final Appearance
After installation is complete, the cladding should present a clean, aligned, and uniform finish.
